How Can I Increase My Children's Self-esteem?
Parent's praise, positive feedback, consistent support and encouragement go a long way in building children's self-esteem.
If you feel that your children's self-esteem is low or it is slipping, do these things:
1. Observe things they do nicely in their daily routine and praise them for their work or talent. For example, if they fold their sheets neatly, or pack their school bag properly, tell them 'you have a talent for doing things NEATLY.'
Carefully find such nice words to say to your children in all their actions and behaviour. Believe it or not, you will soon notice a significant improvement in their confidence, behaviour and also in your relationship with them.
2. Whenever they achieve anything, whether it’s small or big, pat their back. For example, even if your children score 4 points more in math test than what they scored previously, tell them with a smile that they are 'improving.'
3. You can also follow this technique based on the powerful methods we use in Success Mindware course:
Encourage your children to participate in things that they are good at. They will naturally perform better. Then tell your children, "See you do this so nicely. You have got the brains and talent. You can do anything else you want to do."
When you follow this technique consistently with your children, they will zoom ahead in their life. You and your children can find more such life-changing techniques here
